SO inverted tripod: a tripod - but upside down
SO inverted tripod
As a rule, tripod legs are always extended from top to bottom. This means that the higher you adjust your tripod, the more unstable it becomes, as the legs get thinner and thinner. The approach is exactly the opposite in the case of the SO series of so-called inverted tripods. The tripod legs are extended upwards, thereby minimising the loss of stability. However, to ensure a reasonable level of stability, these tripod legs can only be extended once, which means that they therefore tend to take up a lot of space.
