In the CQ350, Sky Watcher presents a mount which sits between the EQ6-R and the EQ8-R. It can be used for mobile astrophotography, in the backyard or in public observatories. It is, therefore, available both with and without a tripod.
The equatorial CQ350 Pro features the well-proven SynScan™ computerised control system with 42,900 objects within its integrated database. These can be easily called up using their Messier, NGC or other catalogue number. Using an optional WiFi dongle, it is possible to control the mount via an app on iOS or Android devices.
The mount was developed for ambitious astrophotographers, its maximum load capacity is 35kg. The combined dovetail rail clamps for 45 and 75mm prism rails allows a large range of telescopes and other accessories to be connected.
This quiet mount moves using belt drives with stepper motors on both axes (encoder resolution: 55,193,600 counts/rev., approx. 0,023 arc seconds). Its quiet operation and high slewing speed make this mount appealing to observatories with public guided tours, too.
It comes with two counterweights, each weighing 10kg. An external polarscope can also be connected to facilitate quick positioning.
The CQ350 mount is compatible with the EQ8 pier.
