The issue with the OTA focusing thread has been solved.

Solving my problem with the front focusing thread in this OTA took over three months, involving numerous contacts with Astroshop’s customer service teams in both Germany and Spain, as well as four separate deliveries of three brand-new units and one repaired unit. They consistently did their best to resolve my issues, and I have finally decided to keep the one Astroshop had repaired. They have proven to me that Astroshop stands behind their products and genuinely strives for customer satisfaction

Main focusing thread gets stuck, useless OTA
Review by I. L. on 01.09.2024 09:20:11( 1 / 5 )
I ordered this OTA from astroshop as a finder, autoguiding tube and eventual wide-field astrograph. When I received the OTA the main thread, which allows to move forward and backwards the main objective lenses in order to focus, was a bit hard to turn. After a couple of uses the thread became harder and harder to turn until it went completely stuck, so that you could not focus anymore. The OTA was returned to Astroshop for repair/substitution. A few days later it was sent back to me without any technical comment or information about how they had solved the problem. Actually I do not know if it was the same OTA or a new one (I guess it was the same OTA). This "repaired" OTA thread went stuck after only 2 or 3 minutes of turns just to check if it was good.
I guess the female thread on the main white tube is made of low quality metal which releases tiny debris on the thread when turned, which after some use blocks the movement of the thread. Bad quality product from TS Optics.
I kindly think that both customer and technical service from Astroshop Germany has been far from first class with this order.
