This Newtonian telescope is relatively lightweight despite its large aperture of 12" (305 millimetres). It is ideally suited to astrophotography: A fast aperture ratio of f/4, ultra-thin secondary mirror supports for fine diffraction spikes and a focuser with an advantageous focal position: You will have no problems finding your focus with any of the current DSLR or astrophotography cameras. Illuminated image field: 23mm up to 100%; 35mm up to 90%. This is perfect for SLR cameras with APS-C sensors!
To help you focus during visual observations, an extension sleeve is included. You can use this with 2” eyepieces or, thanks to the included reducer, 1.25” eyepieces.
The generously sized finderscope helps you to easily centre celestial objects when the camera is attached.
The focuser with its ring clamp also holds heavy equipment, which can be brought easily into focus using the fine drive.
The advantages of the carbon-fibre OTA, which you get with this model, are the slightly lower weight and no change in tube length even with extreme temperature variations.
