This apochromat has everything required to make any astrophotographer’s heart race - and for a reasonable price.
The three-element construction from special FCD-1-ED glass by Hoya, Japan, and two air gaps create a corrector which is considerably higher quality than two-element ED apochromats available in this price range. A calculated polystrehl value of over 0.9 produces a much clearer image than the 0.8 which can be obtained using two lenses. This outstanding image performance, combined with a sturdy mechanism, creates a package which leaves nothing to be desired.
An optional field flattener accessory for photography is also available - this means the instrument can be used for photography with no restrictions. The tube length has been optimised so that accessories with critical focal positions can also be used.
Carbon Fibre Tube
This apochromat is well suitable to visual observing but was, in fact, developed especially for astrophotography. Use the advantages of a carbon fibre tube: it is particularly light and so even perfectly suitable for using on smaller mounts. The tube also offers a very high inherent stability and only minimal thermal expansion. These advantages are particularly useful for astrophotography, as the focus remains stable for the whole night. The dew shield is also carbon fibre and can be extended easily. In addition, the tube is lined with black felt.
