More about the series EQ-2...
The classical Newton Reflector telescope according to Sir Isaac Newton. A quite large instrument of its class.
With the diameter of 130mm, you can find hundreds of objects in the sky!
This size class offers an impressing efficiency for a beginner´s telescope: with the impressing diameter of 130mm, the mirror collects so much light (30% more than with 114mm diameter) that you can even see light Deep Sky objects highly detailed. The ring fog in the Lyra, for example, gets visible as a clear “smoke ring” or the Andromeda Galaxy appears in its full splendour as expanded celestial object. Concerning planet observations, you can reach magnifications up to 260x and the planet discs show up in impressing size.
The EQ2 is a useful parallactic mounting with an outstanding price-performance ratio. Its stability provides some beautiful and enjoyable hours with your telescope under the impressing sky. It permits a fine adjustment in declination and right ascension axis and can be refitted with an electronic tracking motor drive (to compensate the earth rotation) which replaces exhausting manual tracking.
The mounting EQ-2:
This parallytic mounting bares already the opportunity to arrange optics exactely to the polestar. For each watching-place, the right pole-height/geographic amplitude can be set. The objects can be set and tracked with fine movements in the right ascension- and declination-axe.
The aluminium three leg-tripod is extendable in a height from 71 cm up to 121 cm.
Also for children.
With this model, in addition to the mount itself, you will also receive an EQ-2 motor and its high-speed hand box.

Our expert comment:
The SKYWATCHER 130/900 mm EQ-2 is a starter instrument in the lowest price range. You get a fairly large lens at a very low price. Apart from the Moon and the planets, the 130 mm aperture enables you to observe also certain bright nebulae and galaxies. However, the mount is too weak for long exposure photography. If you wish, in the future, to complete your equipment for this purpose, you should consider buying the SKYWATCHER 150/750 mm EQ-3-2 which offers higher light intensity and a better mount.
