It is really not so straightforward to accurately point a single lens reflex camera (DSLR) at an object in the night sky. Looking through the viewfinder or using Live View on the monitor is no help unless your target is the Moon. This adapter lets you attach the red dot finder from Skywatcher to the camera hot shoe. You can set up the red dot finder during the day by pointing the camera at a remote object the sky and aligning the red dot finder to point at the same object. The camera lens and finder are then set up parallel. The red dot finder will then show you exactly where the camera is pointing at night so that you can frame the object you want.
The metal adapter is CNC-machined.
