Optical system:
Due to its huge aperture, this 200 mm Newtonian reflector scope is one of the biggest formats popular among amateur astronomers: its light-gathering power is about three times the power of a 114 mm scope, so that even the faintest details of deep sky objects become visible. Magnificent planetary nebulae reveal a host of detail elements for which the use of specific nebula filters will further enhance the contrast and provide vivid images. The lens also produces very good results in the field of astrophotography: the large aperture allows for short exposure times which enable you to capture spiral galaxies and colourful nebulae with a digital or a reflex camera.
Mount:
If you are looking for a robust and well-priced mount which you can upgrade later without any problems, this equatorial EQ-5 mount is exactly what you need: from slow motion on both axes to aluminium setting circles for declination and right ascension, everything is there.
As for optional accessories, both a pole finder and tracking motor drives are available.
