A good Plössl eyepiece performs better than a simple Kellner design.
The Plössl eyepiece's advantages:
- Comfortable viewing position
- Soft rubber eyecup against straylight
- Coated optics for good contrast
- Four lens design - nearly no false colour
- Glass lenses and metal body (no plastic)

Fields of use:
With the four-element design, the Plössl is a true allrounder. In opposite to simple eyepiece designs, it adds no false colour to the telescope system. Plössls are a also good choice for lunar and planetary observations at high magnifications. The longer focal length versions are suitable for Nebulae, Star Clusters and Galaxies.
Due to the low amount of abbreviation, these eyepieces are also good projectives for astro photographers. The MGF2 coaatings prevent reflections and cause high contrast.
