Product description

With this accessory you can adjust the optics of Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. It consists of a sleeve with crosshairs and a Cheshire eyepiece. The flexible eye cup ensures light cannot enter from the side.

The collimating eyepiece fits into every 1.25” focuser or alternatively every 2” focuser with the corresponding adapter. A small hole at the top and crosshairs at the bottom enable precise centring of the optical mirror components. The polished surface with a 45° inclination projects a band of light into the optical path enabling precise primary mirror alignment.

With this collimating eyepiece you can adjust any reflector telescope in just a few minutes. Anyone who owns a Dobsonian telescope that must always be transported to the observation site should own this accessory.

Customer reviews

Collimating your Scope.

I got this collimation eyepiece for my 8 inch Dob. As far as I can tell it works great. The reason I didnt get a laser collimator (only slightly more expensive, but not much) is because some reviews say that even a laser collimator can be slightly off. Collimation eyepieces are generally more accurate. I collimate my scope after 2-3 times usage and although generally much collimation isnt required, it is something that I can recommend as it makes it an easier and faster process relative to not using anything at all.
