The aneroid barometer consists of an evacuated cylinder which is fixed to the base of the housing with. The cover of the cylinder is often formed into circular corrugations to increase the surface area. The cover moves up and down, depending on the air pressure. This movement is transferred to a pointer via a linkage mechanism. The pointer displays the current air pressure on a scale.
The aneroid barometer is solid and is accurate in every detail. It is highly accurate and still used even today as a specialized technical instrument, e.g. it is used in meteorology.
For private use, the classic aneroid barometer is suitable for weather observation and as a beautiful design object, perhaps on the terrace, and as a classic gift.
