Product description

Nanotracker - The mini-mount for astrophotography and time lapse photography

The Nanotracker is one of the smallest travel mounts in the world with which you easily photograph the night sky with your camera at any time. It does not matter where you are in the world - the Nanotracker easily fits in any luggage - it is only half the size of your sunglasses case. It lets you take back perfectly tracked images of the night sky with you.

  • miniature mount for precisely tracked images of the night sky
  • easy to mount on a tripod
  • fits in any luggage - can be used anywhere on Earth
  • electronic tracking with separate hand control box
  • speeds: 0.5X and 1X for Northern and Southern hemispheres
  • for cameras of up to 200mm focal length and 2kg in weight

  1. Take photos of starry night sky home with you
  2. Imagine you have just taken a long flight somewhere. You might be in Namibia for example, the Eldorado of amateur astronomy. The band of the Milky Way arches over you with its millions of distant worlds. There is absolute darkness - something you have never seen before. You have the impression that the Milky Way is even casting a shadow on the landscape. And then you see how it merges into the horizon and the barren Namibian desert.
  3. Wouldn't it be just great if you could capture these unique incredible memories? This is actually easier than you might think - with the Nanotracker.
  4. Nano means tiny
  5. What do you take with you on your trips? Camera, mobile phone, keys and ... yes, of course, there in your left pocket - the Nanotracker. It is called this because it really is so small that you can take it with you anywhere.
  6. Fantastic shots of the stars - rather than star trails
  7. If you put a camera on a tripod and take around a 30 seconds exposure, the star images will start to change from points to lines as we on Earth are rotating under the night sky. But if we could only expose for several minutes, then a wealth of detail would appear in the image. But we would then have to have our camera track the stars. This is exactly what the Nanotracker does for you.
  8. Compatible with any tripod
  9. Simply attach your SLR camera using the photo thread on the Nanotracker, put it all together on a tripod and you are ready to go.
  10. The built-in photo thread is compatible with any standard camera tripod. The tripod only needs a pan head or ball head. Use the central sighting hole to aim at the Pole Star and this then matches the tilt of the tripod head to the latitude of your observing site.
  11. For lenses of up to 200mm focal length
  12. You can use a camera with telephoto lenses of up to 200mm focal length. Photograph interesting astronomical events, or simply the entire night sky. Perhaps you have always wanted to travel to a total solar eclipse but did not know what to take? This mount lets you photograph such events.
  13. Tracking shots with the landscape in the foreground
  14. The Nanotracker's hand control box also has a 0.5X speed in addition to the 'normal' star tracking speed. This lets you take a wonderful image of the Milky Way with its velvety stars and, at the same time, a sharp photograph of the landscape in your immediate area. There is almost nothing better than having the night sky and the landscape merge into an aesthetic whole.
  15. And 'action' -Time-lapse photography made easy
  16. Time-lapse photography is fascinating, and the Nanotracker can be used for taking these types of images too. The rotary motion of the camera means not only simple time-lapse impressions are possible, but the camera can perform extra rotational motion.
  17. What you need to operate it?

  • a tripod
  • a ball head or pan head for the tripod (if not attached)
  • another, small, ball head to mount on the Nanotracker.
  • three 1.5V AAA batteries (and spare batteries ideally)
  • your camera and the Nanotracker of course
